About the Heavy Duty AGV

Everything you need to know, at a glance.

A quick technical summary of the Semco Heavy Duty AGV — for engineering teams evaluating heavy load transfer solutions inside transformer and heavy manufacturing plants.

What is a Heavy Duty AGV?
A battery-powered, omnidirectional Automated Guided Vehicle engineered to lift and transport ultra-heavy industrial loads on factory floors — used for transformers, reactors, steel coils, wind turbine sub-assemblies and similar heavy components.
How does it work?
The AGV rolls under the load on ultra-low-profile polyurethane wheels, lifts hydraulically, and moves along programmed floor paths under differential-drive omnidirectional control — no rails, no compressed air.
Which industries use it?
Transformer manufacturing, heavy engineering, power equipment, steel, wind turbine and shipyard assembly, aerospace, railway and infrastructure — anywhere ultra-heavy components need to move.
Maximum payload
Rated configurations from 20 tonnes to 600 tonnes across the SI-KWT platform. The 300 tonne class is the most-specified rating for large transformer plants.
Navigation methods
Differential drive with omnidirectional motion — programmed floor paths, magnetic tape, laser or LiDAR-guided variants available.
Power system
Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery with fast opportunity charging and long standby life.
Safety features
IP54 protection, 360° obstacle detection, emergency-stop, wireless operator controller, safety-rated speed limits.
Customization
Custom deck sizes, lifting stroke, wheel configuration, control architecture and integration with plant FMS/ERP systems.

Why This Product

Built specifically for transformer manufacturers.

Traditional transformer movement using air cushion vehicles comes with expensive infrastructure, high maintenance costs and operational limitations — compressed air lines, sealed floors, skilled operators and constant part replacement.

The Semco Heavy Duty AGV is a modern alternative for the transformer industry, heavy engineering and industrial automation. A battery-powered heavy load AGV with omnidirectional movement, differential drive, IP54 protection and up to 90% lower operating cost over its lifetime. Autonomous, trackless, and engineered for round-the-clock production floors.
